WHY SHOULD YOU BE A MEMBER?
Central District Meeting (2 CEU)
The MSOTA Central District Meeting will take place at the UMMC SHRP Building on April 20 (Thursday) 5:00-7:00 PM. The conference will include 1 hour of UMMC Research Poster Presentations and 1 hour presentation by Robin Davis entitled "2017 Fieldwork Educator Update". Participants will be able to 1. Articulate the “what, why and how” of fieldwork student learning objectives, 2. Use learning objectives to assist in scoring the Fieldwork Performance Evaluation, and 3. Access Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement policies regarding student involvement in therapy provision. To register, e-mail email@example.com
MSOTA 2017 RUN, WALK, AND ROLL 5K/10K FUNDRAISERJoin us for our 4th annual Run, Walk, and Roll on April 22, 2017. The cost is $25 by April 15 and will go up to $30 from April 16-April 20. Methodist Rehab CEU Opportunity (8 Hours)
A Kinesio University KT3 seminar is being offered April 22, 2017 at Methodist Rehabilitation Center Outpatient Therapy Service at 1350 East Woodrow Wilson Drive. Coastal District Meeting (1 CEU)
The MSOTA Coastal District Meeting will take place at El Saltillo's Mexican Restaurant on April 27 (Thursday) 5:30-7:00 PM. The meeting will last 30 minutes followed by a 1 hour presentation by Ashley Campbell, DPT, entitled "Posterior Canal Benign Paraoxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV): Assessment and Treatment for the General Therapist”. Participants will be able to 1) describe typical nystagmus pattern and symptoms of BPPV, 2) follow instructions for performing treatment of BPPV, and 3) recognize success of PC BPPV treatment vs. need for further referral. The Jackson Free Clinic has several opportunities for clinician volunteers for every weekend starting on March 4 and after (excluding April 29). Please let us know if you would be willing to volunteer so we won't have to cancel opening the clinic for OT treatments. (Clinic will be closed on March 18, April 1, and April 15) Please contact Tanner Lee for more information.
