OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PRACTITIONERS

The MSOTA, an affiliate of the American
Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), recognizes two levels of
professionals in the field of occupational therapy. This includes
the Occupational Therapist and the Occupational Therapy Assistant.
The following provides a brief description of the requirements to
legally practice as one of these professionals in the state of
Mississippi.

- Credentials: OTR/L
- Completes a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral level
educational program accredited by the AOTA.
- Successful completion of a national certification exam.
- Obtains a state license to practice in Mississippi.

- Completes an Associate level educational program accredited by the AOTA.
- Successful completion of a national certification exam.
- Obtains a state license to practice in the state of Mississippi.
