Highlights from the April 29, 2011 MSOTA Board Meeting
- Dan Allison, MS, OTR/L, ATP, CDRS began his tenure as president of the association on April 1, 2011.
- The current balance in the checking account is $6861.91 and $28,223.03 in savings account for a total of $35,084.94.
- MSOTA will recommend reappointment of Chris Dale, OTR/L and Larry Mills, OTR/L to the Mississippi State Department of Health OT Advisory Council.
- Dan Allison recognized new board members Sherry Hager, MOTR/L, Vice-President; Danielle Whittington, OTR/L, Secretary-Treasurer Elect; Laura Ashley, OTR/L and Misty Ferguson-Wood, OTR/L, Central District Co-Chairmen.
- Currently there are 120 OT and OTA members and 142 students (46 of whom are graduating next month). There are a total of 1191 licensed OT practitioners in the state of Mississippi.
- The annual mini-conferences this year to be held in the Coastal, Central, and Northern Districts on August 6, 2011.
- Delta District Chair Brad Cooper, OTR/L was commended for his continued efforts to increase membership and participation in the Delta District by jointly sponsoring continuing education sessions with the local MPTA district.
- The 2011 spring conference in Tupelo has 60 participants registered to attend.
